The job of an unskilled worker (m/f/d) is versatile and varied. Their specific areas of responsibility depend on the industry and product of the company or business. They usually perform simple or ancillary tasks.

What are the tasks?

Depending on the industry and the product of the company, the tasks of unskilled workers differ. However, they support the skilled workers with ancillary and helping activities in all practical work that arises. In commercial, industrial and craft enterprises, for example, they are responsible for material transport and the provision of work equipment, help to set up and secure construction sites or are responsible for the monitoring, control and operation of machines. They are employed in quality control as well as in sorting, storing and packing goods or take care of tidying up and cleaning work.

What are the requirements?

No vocational training or specific school-leaving qualification is required to work as an unskilled worker. The necessary knowledge and skills are learned during induction. However, the basic requirements for unskilled workers include health and physical fitness. Depending on the field of activity, manual dexterity, prior technical knowledge and enjoyment of working with machines are also prerequisites for the profession. Prudence and a sense of responsibility, the ability to work in a team as well as diligence and precise work are also important.
